But what do those numbers actually tell you?

1. What Does CO₂ Tell You?

2. What Does PM2.5 Tell You?

 

PM2.5 refers to fine airborne particulate matter.

Outdoor AQI Is Not Your Indoor PM2.5 Reading

3. What Does PM10 Tell You?

4. What Does Temperature Tell You?

5. What Does Relative Humidity Tell You?

Why Measure All Five Parameters Together?

Scenario 1: High CO₂ + Low PM2.5

PM2.5 is relatively low, but CO₂ continues to increase.

 

This suggests that particulate conditions and ventilation-related conditions are telling different stories.

 

Further ventilation investigation may be required.

 

Scenario 2: Low CO₂ + High PM2.5

 

Now imagine an office receiving significant outdoor air during a period of elevated particulate pollution.

 

CO₂ may remain relatively low.

 

But PM2.5 may be elevated.

A CO₂-only meter would not show this issue.

 

Scenario 3: High PM10 Near Renovation

PM10 readings are higher near the work area than in other parts of the building.
